Department Center for Learning & Teaching Job Summary Bowdoin College invites applications for the Department Coordinator II for the Baldwin Center for Learning and Teaching (BCLT). This position will work directly with five BCLT staff/faculty colleagues in programs focused on Academic Coaching and Mentoring, Academic Communication and Acculturation, Faculty Development, Learning Assistants, Quantitative Reasoning, and Writing. The BCLT envisions a community which engages in the intentional design of inclusive and equitable learning and teaching for all students and educators at Bowdoin. By offering scaffolded, evidence based, and dynamic consultations, programming, and courses, the BCLT nurtures a community of inquisitive and reflective learners and educators who embrace challenges as opportunities and develop skills in communication, creative thinking, and leadership. The Department Coordinator II is responsible for providing comprehensive support and coordination for the department. This position involves handling a wide range of administrative tasks, managing departmental projects, and serving as a liaison between department members and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. May support mulitple leaders or larger, more varied, complex areas. Education/Skills Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other office software applications. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and external contacts. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an administrative support role or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications in this posting to be considered for hire. Standard Work Days and Hours 40 hours/week for 10 months (mid-August-mid-June) with an anticipated start date of August 15, 2026. Administrative hours are Monday•Friday, 8:30 am•5:00 pm.
