During-school:
Starting Arts is looking for experienced and enthusiastic Dance and/or Movement instructors to work in our during-school arts education programs in the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. Ideal candidates are comfortable working with students in grades TK-5th grade. Teaching experience is required, however, a teacher credential is not required. This is a part-time position. Commuting is required, and therefore reliable transportation is necessary. Artists work between 2-5 days per week, providing flexibility with additional work or academic schedules. Our next during school rotation begins in mid October with on boarding and training beginning in early October. Required Qualifications - A successful candidate has: Minimum of 2 years teaching experience, preferably with groups of 20 or more students Understanding or willingness to understand the California Visual and Performing Arts Standards (VAPA) Experience creating and implementing lesson plans Clear communication skills; ability to respond to emails with SA program directors and school administration in a timely manner Ability to demonstrate instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of all learners Experience in teaching neurodivergent and physically challenged students is a plus Ability to organize age appropriate activities for the purpose of ensuring student engagement and participation Ability to manage student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment Dependable means of transportation Proof of TB test/Assessment We are also looking for someone who is: Punctual, organized, and adaptable to classroom environments A diplomatic, clear, and effective communicator and has the ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively Knowledgeable of south bay traffic patterns and has reliable transportation. Compensation is dependent upon experience.
