SEBASS Events is seeking a proficient AV + Operations Technician to support seamless event execution by overseeing technical production across warehouse, office, and on-site event environments. This position requires an individual with experience or a keen interest in lighting, audio, video, and staging , capable of adapting to both behind-the-scenes logistics and live event operations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse & Office Duties:
Prepare, organize, and maintain audiovisual and staging equipment to ensure operational efficiency. Manage inventory control, gear maintenance, and equipment tracking using Rentman . Execute preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on production gear, including diagnosing signal flow issues, replacing faulty cables, recalibrating audio and video equipment, and conducting basic fixture repairs for lighting systems. Assist in logistics coordination, load-in/load-out operations, and production workflows . Develop and update technical documentation, event layouts, and production schedules to streamline processes. RentMan On-Site Event Responsibilities:
Oversee transportation, setup, and breakdown of audiovisual and staging equipment. Operate and assist in running technical elements , including lighting consoles, sound systems, and video switchers. Provide real-time troubleshooting , technical problem-solving, and operational adjustments as necessary. Collaborate with producers, event managers, and clients to align technical execution with event objectives. Ensure all equipment is properly packed, transported, and returned to inventory post-event.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Working knowledge of entertainment audio, visual, lighting systems, staging, fabrication and electrical power, rigging and weight distribution Ability to diagnose and repair signal flow issues, cabling problems, and basic AV equipment malfunctions . Specialization in one or two production disciplines, while maintaining a thorough working knowledge of audio, lighting, fabrication, decor and scenic elements Ability to prioritize and manage time-sensitive details across multiple events Availability and willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends Valid driver's license and a good driving record Warehouse/driving experience, including driving 24' box trucks (CDL not required) Reliable transportation to and from our office and job sites Ability to comfortably lift up to 50 pounds 70% Florida based and 30% travel 3+ years of recent events industry experience Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Word and similar softwares Proficiency in Rentman software or willing to train in the first 90 days Hands-on production/crew management experience in the special events industry or related Comfortable operating heavy equipment, such as boom lifts and forklifts
