This is considered an entry level position and the ideal candidate would possess some of the qualities described below, but more importantly would have an eagerness to learn. Quality work is the foundation of Force Tech. Force Tech is an engineering and quality driven technology design/build company focused on professional audio, video, lighting, broadcast, IT, and control solutions. The day-to-day life of an Assistant Technician could involve, but is not limited to, the following: In shop or on-site system building. Cable-pulling. Terminations. On-site installation. On-site commissioning assistance. Supporting existing clients on service calls. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Secondary Duties:

When necessary, this position may be required to provide support in other areas of the company. Force Tech is a growing business and many of the employees fulfill multiple roles. No requested task should be considered beneath any employee when it comes to assisting in the bigger picture of the company.

Ideal Abilities:

Able to perform general wire pulling, as well as neat and systematic rack cable dressing. Proficiency at many types of cable terminations and soldering. The ability to work with small terminations and components. Ability to understand line diagrams, rack elevations, cable run lists, and room layouts. Read plans, room and equipment layouts, CAD Diagrams. Comfortable with the use of power tools and hand tools. Possess a general understanding of system components, structured cabling, fiber optics, and audio/video/control signal flow, etc. Some level of basic mechanical aptitude. The ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.

Physical Requirements:

The following physical requirements are representative of those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this role. Must be able to lift, push, pull, raise, lower, or carry up to 75 lbs. from ground level to waist, waist to overhead, and between mid-level surfaces. Prolonged periods of standing and maintaining a stationary position are required. Frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, or crawling in tight or confined spaces. Ability to climb structures such as ladders, scaffolding, ropes, or poles, using both upper and lower body, up to heights of 75 feet. Capability to work on equipment positioned above the head, at shoulder level, or below the waist while standing or seated. Must be able to move across and stand on both even and uneven surfaces. Manual dexterity to handle and manipulate small components, including grasping and pinching small objects. Ability to input data into a computer or other devices using a traditional keyboard or 10-key pad. Visual acuity at close range (within 20 inches) for tasks like reading small print or working with small parts, and distance vision (20 feet or more). Depth perception at both close and long distances. Ability to perceive and differentiate between colors accurately. Strong verbal communication skills to clearly express and exchange information with clients and team members, including delivering detailed instructions effectively. Ability to hear, comprehend, and distinguish spoken communication in person, over the phone, or via other audio technologies.

Primary Qualifications:

Must be able to start the day at 7:00 am and end at 5:00 pm (typically 4:00pm). Typically an 8 hour day. This time period includes an assumed break for lunch, but must be able to work overtime as requested. Must be able to adapt to a flexible schedule and be able to work overtime and/or travel extensively out of town as needed with little notice per project. All Technicians must have the physical capacity to perform light to heavy manual labor for extended periods of time in a variety of general work conditions including but not limited to; the ability to continuously walk, bend, kneel, sit, twist, stoop, crawl, climb, stretch, squat, lift (50 lbs), push, pull, reach, enter and exit vehicles, work in confined spaces, etc. Must be able and willing to climb ladders, scaffolding, operate lifts, and be comfortable working at any height. Must have a good work ethic and positive attitude. Must be willing to pursue familiarity and seek education regarding new technologies. Must have the ability to work with a team or by themselves. Must be able to understand and conform to OSHA requirements. Must have the ability to understand quality performance with a strong attention to detail. Must possess time management and organizational skills, and have the ability to perform within realistic yet tight deadlines. Ability to handle multiple tasks daily and respond quickly and accurately to requests for assistance. Must have the ability to recognize when to escalate questions or problems to other team members or Management when necessary. Must maintain a positive outlook with a strong sense of motivation and curiosity. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to pass a background screening. Must be able to pass a drug test. Must maintain a valid Indiana driver's license with a clean driving record. Must maintain reliable personal transportation. Must be able to work out of the Greenfield office. Must be willing to abide by Force Tech Off-Duty Conduct Policy. Must be willing to abide by Force Tech's Dress-Code which includes grooming standards.

Ideal Previous Experience:

1-3 years of experience in a similar industry (preferred but not mandatory). Familiarity with communication and control system protocols including IP (network) communication. Familiarity with most aspects of AVL, production, broadcast, and automation solutions. Certification in CTS, or willing to work toward successful completion.
