Full Job Description JJob Summary:
The Lead Audio Visual Installer is responsible for overseeing the installation, configuration, and commissioning of AV systems in commercial environments. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring projects are completed on time, meet quality standards, and align with client expectations. The ideal candidate is outgoing, dedicated to quality customer interactions and proficient in installing and integrating complex audio/video systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise AV installation teams on-site, assigning tasks and ensuring productivity
  • Install, terminate, and test AV equipment including displays, projectors, speakers, control systems, and cabling
  • Interpret system schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams accurately
  • Coordinate with project manager, clients, and other trades to ensure smooth project execution
  • Configure and troubleshoot AV systems, including control systems, audio tuning, and video distribution
  • Ensure all installations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies
  • Conduct system testing, quality checks, and client demonstrations upon project completion
  • Maintain documentation including as-built drawings, test results, and installation notes
  • Train and mentor junior installers and technicians
  • Manage tools, equipment, and inventory on-site
Required Qualifications:
  • 3-5+ years of experience in AV installation or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of AV systems, signal flow, and integration techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Experience with structured cabling, including termination and testing
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry certifications (CTS)
  • Experience with control systems (Crestron, Extron)
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, etc.)
  • OSHA or safety certifications

Work Environment:
  • On-site at client locations, including construction environments
