Audio/Visual (A/V) Technician
  • Livestream & Sound Shir Tikvah Minneapolis, Minnesota About Shir Tikvah Shir Tikvah is a k'hilah k'doshah (holy community), joyfully revealing the intersections of talmud torah (lifelong Torah study), t'filah (prayer), tzedakah (justice), and hachnasat orchim (radical hospitality).

Position Overview Shir Tikvah, a vibrant, justice-centered Jewish community in the Twin Cities, is seeking a skilled and dependable A/V Technician to support our hybrid service experience. This role is essential to creating meaningful, accessible services for both in-person and virtual participants. Our services are musical, participatory, and grounded in community. The A/V Technician helps bring that experience to life—ensuring that sound is clear, livestreams run smoothly, and everyone can fully engage, wherever they are.
Schedule Friday evenings:
Weekly 5:30-8:30pm (Kabbalat Shabbat services) Saturday mornings: Occasional 9:30-12:00pm (B'mitzvah services) Jewish holidays and special events: Occasional (scheduled in advance) Key Responsibilities
  • Run and monitor livestreams (YouTube and Zoom)
  • Set up and operate audio equipment, including microphones and mixing board
  • Ensure high-quality sound for clergy, musicians, and congregants
  • Manage cameras and basic video as needed
  • Collaborate with clergy, musicians, and staff to support the flow of services
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in real time with calm and clarity
  • Record and archive services when needed
  • Maintain A/V equipment and communicate any technical needs or upgrades
  • Support occasional special events or programs as needed Qualifications
  • Experience with live audio systems (mixers, microphones, signal flow)
  • Familiarity with livestreaming platforms and basic video production
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to think on your feet
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to lift and set up basic equipment Preferred Skills
  • Experience with digital sound boards and wireless mic systems
  • Familiarity with OBS or similar streaming software
