$25.00 to $30.00 per hour Event Stagehand / AV Production Technician/ Photobooth Attendant JustINtertainment / Blackline Production San Francisco Bay Area Part-Time / Event-Based About Us JustINtertainment and Blackline Production provide premium entertainment, audio, lighting, staging, and event production services throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. We support weddings, corporate events, private celebrations, and large-scale productions where professionalism, safety, and attention to detail are essential. We are looking for dependable event professionals with stagehand, live-event production, or AV experience to join our growing production team. Position Overview This is a hands-on event production role focused primarily on equipment loading, setup, operation, and breakdown. Depending on the event, you may also support DJs, operate photobooths, assist with lighting, manage wireless microphones, and help with guest-facing production needs. This is a physically active position. You must be comfortable moving heavy equipment, working efficiently under time constraints, following a production lead's direction, and maintaining a safe and polished work environment. Candidates with experience in stagehand work, concerts, corporate AV, theater, hotels, convention centers, weddings, or live-event production are strongly encouraged to apply. Key ResponsibilitiesLoad-In and Load-Out Load and unload speakers, subwoofers, lighting fixtures, staging, screens, projectors, DJ equipment, photobooths, cases, stands, and cables Safely move equipment using carts, dollies, ramps, lifts, and proper team-lifting techniques Follow equipment manifests, truck-pack plans, and instructions from the production lead Protect venue walls, floors, doors, elevators, and furniture during load-in and load-out Break down, pack, inventory, and reload equipment efficiently at the end of each event Confirm that all equipment, cables, accessories, and personal items are accounted for before departure Audio and AV Production Set up and strike powered speakers, subwoofers, mixers, microphones, monitors, and speaker stands Assist with ceremony, cocktail-hour, reception, breakout-room, and multi-zone audio systems Run audio, power, and data cables safely and cleanly Tape, cover, secure, and dress cable paths to prevent trip hazards Assist with soundchecks and wireless microphone testing Monitor equipment during events and help troubleshoot basic signal, power, and connection issues Hand microphones to speakers and assist with presentations, ceremonies, and toasts Assist with projectors, screens, televisions, and basic video connections when needed Lighting and Staging Set up and strike uplighting, dance-floor lighting, moving lights, lighting stands, truss, pipe and drape, and related production equipment Position fixtures according to the production plan or direction of the lead technician Run and secure lighting power and data cables Assist with addressing, testing, focusing, and making basic adjustments to lighting fixtures Assemble approved staging, façade, booth, and production elements Maintain safe weight distribution, secure connections, and clean cable management DJ and Event Support Assist DJs with equipment setup, soundcheck, and breakdown Monitor microphones and audio zones during the event Help manage transitions between ceremonies, cocktail hours, receptions, presentations, and dancing Stay familiar with the event timeline and anticipate upcoming production needs Help prevent production delays or dead air by communicating issues immediately Keep the DJ or production lead supplied with water or a soft drink when needed Photobooth Support Assemble and test photobooth systems, cameras, lighting, printers, backdrops, and sharing stations Operate the photobooth and provide guests with clear, friendly instructions Manage props, prints, supplies, and digital sharing Troubleshoot basic printer, camera, lighting, and software issues Maintain a clean and inviting photobooth area throughout the event Guest and Client Experience Provide a professional and welcoming presence Communicate respectfully with clients, planners, venue staff, vendors, and guests Respond quickly and calmly when production needs change Maintain awareness during important event moments Capture approved photos or videos on company devices when directed Stagehand and Production Skills We Are Seeking Ideal candidates have experience with one or more of the following: Live-event stagehand work Corporate AV or hotel audiovisual production Concert, theater, festival, or convention production Audio system setup and signal flow Wireless microphones and basic audio troubleshooting Lighting fixtures, DMX, truss, stands, and cable management Projectors, screens, televisions, and video connections Pipe and drape or portable staging DJ equipment and event entertainment systems Loading and unloading production trucks or vans Reading production schedules, equipment lists, or floor plans Working safely around power distribution and production equipment Professional Standards Arrive early enough to account for traffic, parking, security, loading docks, and venue access Follow the production lead's instructions and ask questions when anything is unclear Work with urgency without sacrificing safety or equipment care Maintain a clean, polished, and well-groomed appearance Wear appropriate setup attire and bring formal event attire when required Do not consume alcohol or drugs before or during events Stay off your phone except during approved breaks or for work-related use Maintain a positive, proactive, and team-first attitude Report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment immediately Never attempt unfamiliar rigging, electrical, or staging work without approval and proper supervision Conduct Expectations Provide excellent customer service to clients, guests, venue staff, and fellow crew members Do not solicit personal business or promote outside services while working Do not request contact information from guests or engage in unprofessional behavior Maintain attentive and professional body language No gum chewing during guest-facing event hours Respect client privacy and do not post event content without authorization Work Environment Standards Keep work areas, backstage areas, loading areas, and production stations clean and organized Never lean equipment against walls, doors, furniture, or venue décor Protect finished surfaces during setup and breakdown Keep cables organized, secured, and free of unnecessary hazards Maintain a premium and polished appearance throughout the event Requirements Previous stagehand, live-event production, AV, theater, concert, hotel AV, or related technical experience is strongly preferred Reliable transportation to events throughout the San Francisco Bay Area Valid California driver's license Ability to repeatedly lift and carry at least 50 pounds Ability to push or maneuver heavier equipment safely with carts or team assistance Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work on your feet for extended periods Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to follow directions and work as part of a production crew Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly
