Job Description
For over 40 years, Yorktel has been the video managed services partner around the world for some of the largest business and government agencies. With over 10,000 video systems under management worldwide - more than any other video communications service provider - Yorktel has the proven expertise and global reach to deliver enterprise-quality visual communications. Yorktel is currently seeking a Production and Support Technician who will provide media broadcast operations and executive audiovisual support to government and corporate clients. Qualified candidates must be proficient with a wide range of technologies related to audio and video production, streaming media, videoconferencing, and audiovisual operations support. Ability to travel freely up to 60% is necessary. Ability to drive a 26' (and smaller) box truck and have DOT Medical Card.
Roles and Responsibilities:
This position regularly collaborates with internal production managers as it relates to event support. From time to time, the AV Technician will collaborate with the customer as it relates directly to the event support. Collaboration with the Warehouse Manager on inventory management.The position will:
Proactively monitor appropriate communications channels Promptly respond to requests from customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders Delegate or escalate where necessary but retain ownership to follow-up and ensure follow-through Provide customer reports, input on operations metrics and SLA compliance Virtual production using VMIX Familiarity with VMRs (Teams, Zoom, Webex) Operate video production switcher and cameras during events Operate audio mixing board during live broadcasts and large events Streaming media encoding, digital video editing and digital asset management Provide audiovisual support for conferences and events Audio and video signal routing, patching, switching Pulling inventory for show prep Managing inventory return to warehouse Manage pull sheets and logistics as it pertains to the event prep Knowledge of and adherence to Yorktel policies and procedures Pre-event staging, testing Driving truck to customer site, local or long haul Logistics, load in, setup, and strike Production logistics to include audio and video production equipment, lighting, staging, projection, and related assets Other duties as assigned Education and Experience Bachelors degree in broadcast production, technical certification from trade school, or related experience Minimum of 2 years of direct, relevant experienceLeadership & Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position may at times manage other production crew members during the event cycle.Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong experience in live events and video production Ability to manage a project and hit timelines and budgets Technical expertise in a broad range of state-of-the-art production equipment Solid understanding of television production fundamentals Experience with audio production and live sound reinforcement fundamentals Skilled in the setup and operation of a wide variety of audiovisual equipment Familiarity with streaming media and digital media formats and encoding Experience switching multi-camera or multi-source video programs Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to interact professionally with high-level, high-profile executives and public figures Excellent customer service, problem solving and troubleshooting skills Detail oriented self-starter; must be capable of working independently with little supervision Always present a professional appearance Medical card for DOT Ability to drive trucks up to 26' Ability to travel to support events Occasional weekend or evening hoursAdditional Requirements:
