Job Description

DIRECTOR OF CREATIVE SERVICES
Big ideas. Tiny details. Lots of moving parts. TPC Studios is looking for a Director of Creative Services who knows that great creative doesn't happen by accident. It takes ideas. Strategy. Organization. Good taste. Great communication. A healthy respect for deadlines. And occasionally the ability to make something brilliant happen when the answer to "When do they need it?" is "Yesterday." This is a senior-level role for someone who can think big, lead confidently, build strong client relationships and keep creative projects moving from "what if?" to "wow, how did you do that?" You'll help guide the creative work of TPC Studios across branding, advertising, events, digital, video, environmental graphics and whatever interesting challenge walks through the door next.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead the room. Serve as a strategic lead for TPC Studios clients—helping turn business objectives, event goals and sometimes wonderfully vague ideas into smart creative solutions. You'll build relationships, guide conversations, present ideas and make sure our clients feel confident that someone is looking at both the big picture and the details. Keep the creative train on the tracks. Work alongside our creative, event and production teams to manage: Creative strategy and concept development Project scopes, timelines and budgets Assignments, workflow, proofing and quality control Client presentations and approvals Production management and final deliverables Protect the work. You'll help maintain the creative standard of TPC Studios from the first brainstorm through the final installation, upload, print run, video edit or event reveal. Make friends with vendors. Printers. Sign companies. Photographers. Videographers. Media partners. Developers. Production teams. Shipping companies. Event technology providers. You should be comfortable coordinating outside partners, negotiating details and making sure everyone delivers what they promised. Help develop and execute communications for TPC Studios itself, including: Social media / Public relations / Digital and traditional communications Community visibility / Company events Business networking / Client retention / Internship initiatives Speak fluent client. Creative people and clients don't always speak exactly the same language. You'll help translate. That means listening carefully, asking smart questions, explaining creative decisions without creative jargon and turning feedback into actionable direction for the team. Roll up your sleeves. This is a leadership role—but we're not looking for someone who only points at things. Depending on the project, you may help concept, write, proof, design, present, troubleshoot or jump in wherever your experience can make the work stronger.
YOU MAY BE OUR PERSON IF
You can move comfortably between creative thinking and project thinking. You love a beautiful idea but also appreciate a beautiful spreadsheet. You understand that "Can you make the logo bigger?" is sometimes actually a strategy question. You can manage multiple clients without making any of them feel like they're one of multiple clients. You notice the typo. Every. Single. Tim. Time. You can confidently tell a client, "We have a better idea." And then actually have a better idea. You're comfortable providing direction while also receiving feedback. You're organized enough to manage deadlines but flexible enough to know that creative work doesn't always follow a perfectly straight line. Most importantly, you're fun to be around in the process.
THE TOOLBOX
Strong candidates should bring experience in several of the following areas: Creative strategy + execution of branding, advertising, campaigns, events, digital and content. Client leadership
  • Presentations, relationship management, account growth and navigating feedback. Project management
  • Timelines, budgets, assignments, deliverables and keeping a lot of plates spinning without breaking the good china. Writing + proofing
  • Strong copy instincts are a major plus. Excellent proofreading skills are essential. Adobe Creative Suite
  • Enough design and production knowledge to understand how the work gets made—and the ability to know your CMYK from your RGB. Microsoft Office
  • Word, Excel and PowerPoint should feel like tools, not obstacles. Production knowledge
  • Print, signage, digital media, video, photography, web and other creative production experience is highly valuable.
ABOUT TPC STUDIOS TPC
Studios is a creative agency where branding, advertising, events and experiences collide. Our work can move from a brand strategy session to a video shoot to a gala ballroom to an airport mural installation to a campaign launch—sometimes in the same week. We like smart ideas. We like beautiful creative. We like organized people. We really like people who can be all three. Our team is collaborative, fast-moving and hands-on. Titles matter less than making great work happen, taking care of our clients and being willing to jump in when the team needs you.
THE PERKS
This is a full-time in-office position with TPC Studios and includes a competitive compensation and medical/dental/vision benefits package, including generous paid time off, paid holidays, retirement benefits and opportunities tied to company and individual performance. But perhaps more importantly, you'll get the opportunity to work on a wildly diverse mix of projects with a team of creative people who genuinely enjoy making things happen.
ONE LAST THING.
We're not necessarily searching for someone who checks every box. We're searching for someone who reads this and thinks: "This sounds like me." If you're strategic, creative, organized, curious, collaborative and unusually good at turning chaos into something beautiful…perhaps even with some previous creative agency experience... We should probably talk, ASAP. Equal Opportunity Employer TPC Studios is committed to providing an inclusive work place for all. TPC Studios welcomes diversity and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation or military status.
