SY Class Sponsor Duties Senior Class Sponsor Fundraising:
Raise approximately $500. Plan to have approximately $5000 in your class' account by the end of Homecoming in order to pay for the following: Half of the prom cost (the other half will be funded via prom ticket sales) Prom DJ Prom pictures Roses for graduation (two per student) All Homecoming costs should be covered by the Homecoming proceeds The senior pinning costs should be covered by senior pinning ticket sales and/or senior dues. You are NOT responsible for fundraising for the All Night Party. The parent group will work in the concession stand all year to pay for that party. If they have money left over, they can choose to fund an end-of-the-year Cedar Point trip.
Homecoming:
Banner Party:
Together with the other 3 class sponsors, host an evening event at the school, for students to create a cloth banner. The banner will be hung above their section in the gym for the pep assembly, and carried in the homecoming parade by students. Manage permission slips for students attending, and help organize food and beverages for the event.
Dance:
You are responsible for acquiring a DJ for the Homecoming dance. 30% of the dance proceeds are deposited into the junior account.
Homecoming Court:
Facilitate elections for five boys and five girls to represent the senior class on the Homecoming Court. Facilitate a second election for Homecoming King, Queen, Prince, and Princess (students should vote from the ten court reps).
Announcements:
Announce all court members (9th-12th grade) at the pep rally. Announce King, Queen, Prince, and Princess during halftime of the Homecoming game and at the dance.
Sashes and crowns:
Purchase sashes for all court representatives and additional sashes for the King, Queen, Prince, and Princess. Purchase crowns and tiaras for the King, Queen, Prince, and Princess.
Flowers:
Purchase single roses for the female members of the court (9th-12th grade). Purchase rose bouquets for the Queen and Princess.
Spirit Week:
Organize and advertise the dress days and dress day counts. Choose the pep rally games and ensure that your seniors sign up for the games. Notify the other sponsors of the games, and provide each of them a sign-up sheet. Organize and facilitate the pep rallies.
Class competition:
Keep track of each class' score for the games, float competition, and dress day participation. Announce the winner of spirit week at the game.
Senior Shirts/Attire:
Seniors wear red at the Thursday assembly. Work with parents and class officers to create and sell senior t-shirts, jerseys, hoodies, and/or pants.
Class Officers:
Host regular meetings with these students to help them organize class events, fundraisers, and field trips. Prom Secure a date and location in March of their junior year Secure a DJ Communicate with LifeTouch to secure a photographer Senior Pinning Charge parents $10-15 to cover the pin, decorations, and roses Work with parents and administration to determine a venue and time Secure a speaker and music Order roses (two per student) Cap and Gown Ceremony Create a senior slideshow, inclusive of each student's baby picture, childhood picture, and senior picture. Facilitate, create certificates for, and announce Mock Elections Line up the seniors in alphabetical order and process them in.
Graduation:
Obtain Venue - manage contract, check request, and communication with venue Keep Parents informed about event details Attend graduation rehearsal Announce the names at graduation Line up the students in alpha order You are not responsible for the All Night Party or the Cedar Point trip.
