The Utica Comets and Utica City FC are welcoming applications to fill Gameday Game Presentation Internship positions, also known as the Comets Crew, for the 2026-27 season.

Gamedays only, hours vary week-to-week Supervised by the Director of Game Presentation & Partnership Activation, interns will assist in cultivating a fun and engaging atmosphere for fans at NBT Bank Arena. Interns will primarily be scheduled to work gamedays for the Utica Comets, with additional opportunities to work select Utica City FC home games. Through this internship, participants will gain hands-on experience assisting in the preparation and execution of marketing initiatives and in-arena presentation. This is an unpaid internship. Participants may qualify for academic credit if allowed by their college or university.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the preparation and activation of in-arena presentation elements (including on-ice/field activities) and select group experiences as directed by the Director of Game Presentation & Partnership Activation. Work together with the game presentation team (mascots, host, ice crew, performers, etc.) to manage and complete gameday tasks. Promote a positive fan environment as a representative of the Utica Comets and Utica City FC by interacting with fans, VIPs, staff, and various stakeholders. Assist in the management, care, and storage of equipment, props, supplies, and giveaway items used during gamedays. Aid other departments with pregame, in-game, and postgame initiatives, as needed. Additional duties and special projects as assigned.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

From this internship, participants will be able to take away the following skills and lessons and apply it in future roles: Understand the process of preparing for and executing a live event in the sports industry. Become familiar with run-of-show documents; how to interpret and utilize during the execution of live events. Act as a front-facing member of a professional sports organization, engaging positively and professionally to a wide-range of stakeholders. Collaborate with a diverse group of individuals in a professional sports environment to navigate ever-changing conditions and successfully accomplish tasks.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Can maintain a high level of professionalism within a professional sports environment. Ability to adapt to changing game situations and can complete projects under tight deadlines. Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time; can lift up to 30 lb. Must have a flexible schedule to allow commitment to a majority of Utica Comets and Utica City FC home games during their internship term. Interested applicants must be willing and able to work non-traditional hours in non-traditional settings during peak times of the year. Intern will be responsible for their own housing, food, and transportation to and from NBT Bank Arena. Reimbursement for travel, gas, lodging, etc. is not offered with this internship.
