Part-Time Social Media Video Editor /

Part-Time with opportunity to grow into Full-Time We're looking for an experienced Social Media Video Editor / Content Designer who already understands the world we work in: hip-hop, sports, podcast content, breaking news, viral moments, and platform-first social media content.

if: You are looking for remote work You do not have strong knowledge of hip-hop and/or sports culture You do not have real video editing experience You do not know how to edit professionally in Adobe Premiere Pro You do not have experience creating social media graphics, breaking news graphics, headline posts, or informational graphics You do not have a portfolio or examples showing relevant work This is not an entry-level position and we are not looking to teach someone the basics of video editing, graphic design, hip-hop culture, sports culture, or social media. We need somebody who can come in with those skills already. You'll work directly with our team to turn long-form interviews, podcast episodes, sports talk, breaking news, and trending cultural moments into high-performing social content for Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat. The right person understands that social editing is about more than making a clean video. You should know how to recognize the right moment, package it correctly, create a strong visual hook, and present it in a way that gets people to stop scrolling and watch. This is a part-time position with room to grow into full-time for the right person. Responsibilities Edit short-form video clips from long-form podcasts, interviews, sports talk, and other media content Find strong moments, reactions, debates, stories, jokes, arguments, and soundbites that can perform on social media Edit primarily using Adobe Premiere Pro Create breaking news graphics, sports graphics, hip-hop news graphics, quote cards, headline posts, and informational graphics Build clean, professional, scroll-stopping social posts for trending stories and major announcements Add captions, on-screen text, graphics, images, and visual elements that improve retention Understand when a clip should feel funny, dramatic, emotional, informative, urgent, controversial, or entertaining Write or assist with strong, clickable, monetization-friendly titles and descriptions Package content differently depending on the platform Understand formatting, safe zones, hook placement, pacing, typography, framing, and text hierarchy Work quickly on breaking news and fast-moving stories Collaborate with the team in person on daily content, clip selection, headlines, graphics, and creative direction Maintain consistent quality across multiple media brands and shows Requirements Minimum 2 years of real video editing experience Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro is required Experience editing social-first short-form video is required Experience creating social media graphics is required Strong Photoshop or comparable graphic design skills Must understand hip-hop culture, sports culture, and internet culture Must regularly follow what is happening in hip-hop, sports, entertainment, and viral media Must understand Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat Strong understanding of social media retention, hooks, pacing, captions, layout, typography, and visual hierarchy Ability to recognize what makes a moment worth clipping Ability to create clean breaking news and informational graphics quickly Ability to write or support short, engaging headlines and descriptions Understanding of monetization-safe language and platform standards Must be reliable, fast, detail-oriented, organized, and able to take feedback Must be able to work in person in Tempe, Arizona Portfolio or examples of relevant work are required Preferred Experience We strongly prefer candidates who have experience with: Podcast clips Interview content Sports talk shows Hip-hop or entertainment media Breaking news graphics Sports update graphics Hip-hop news graphics Quote-driven social posts Debate clips Funny or viral moments Emotional storytelling clips Fast-turnaround social news coverage Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Final Cut, CapCut, or Canva is also a plus, but Premiere Pro editing ability is especially important for this position. Platforms You'll Be Working On Facebook YouTube TikTok Instagram Snapchat This Role Is For You If You already know how to turn a long interview or podcast into clips people actually want to watch. You can watch a conversation and recognize the 30 seconds, 60 seconds, or 3 minutes that matter. You know how to make a breaking news graphic that looks professional and makes someone stop scrolling. You understand the difference between simply editing a video and packaging content for social media performance. You know how to edit for retention, not just make something look clean. You understand hip-hop and sports well enough that the names, conversations, references, history, and current stories are already familiar to you. You can work quickly without sacrificing quality. Most importantly, you can bring real creative instincts to the team instead of waiting to be told exactly what to do on every post.
