Bilingual Captioning and Subtitling Specialist (English/Spanish) In this role, you will work with diverse content, ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate captions and subtitles in both English and Spanish . Key Responsibilities:

Import/Export Captioning & Subtitling Tasks:

Import and export caption and subtitle files in English and Spanish using captioning/subtitling software, ensuring files meet client specifications.

Bilingual Content Accuracy:

Work with English and Spanish-language content, ensuring that captions are grammatically accurate, culturally sensitive, and meet industry standards.

Create Captions/Subtitles:

Listen to and accurately create captions/subtitles for a variety of content, including TV shows, movies, educational programs, corporate training videos, and Christian-based/religious programming. Transcription in

English and Spanish:

Create transcripts by adhering to established transcription guidelines and ensure the content is clear, well-structured, and error-free.

Editing & Proofreading:

Review and edit transcripts and captions for punctuation, grammar, and accuracy in both languages, ensuring consistency across all content.

Meet Daily Deadlines:

Manage time effectively to complete tasks within strict deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Software & Research:

Utilize MS Office, Internet resources, and captioning/subtitling software efficiently. Research unknown terminology, spelling, and style nuances to ensure captions meet professional guidelines. Adherence to

Guidelines:

Follow program-specific guidelines (DCMP, Roll-up, LTT, Pop-on, Subtitles, Aberdeen Captioning Standards) to ensure compliance with client and industry requirements. Flexibility with

Work Hours:

Willingness to work overtime when needed to meet workflow demands.

Additional Tasks:

Perform other tasks as requested or required to support team objectives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Native or Near-Native Bilingual Proficiency:

Fluency in both English and Spanish is required, with the ability to switch between languages effortlessly while maintaining cultural sensitivity and linguistic accuracy. Strong attention to detail, grammar, and punctuation in both languages. Excellent listening skills with the ability to distinguish subtle nuances in speech and context. Experience using captioning/subtitling software and familiarity with captioning guidelines is a plus. Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
