Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Deputy Editor to join our Community Health editorial team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Managing Editor, design team, content creators and clients to shape compelling stories, oversee content quality, and ensure our custom publications and proprietary stories meet the highest journalistic standards and our clients' needs and expectations. Your expertise in writing, editing, storytelling and production management will drive engaging content across print and digital platforms. This position offers an opportunity to engage clients' workforces with health and wellness content through journalism and storytelling. Responsibilities Assist managing editor as needed with any and all tasks related to editorial production, including the management of custom publication production regarding magazines, benefits guides and other deliverables Custom publication production tasks include timeline and content planning, leading editorial meetings, communicating and collaborating as needed with client points of contact and Community Health client services, custom story creation, content production, story editing, publication proofing/editing, directing layout of magazines, assigning stories, and uploading/sending approved PDFs of deliverables to Community Health print partners Work with managing editor, editorial assistant and design team to ensure quality control of all Community Health-produced content, with emphasis on meeting the specific needs of Community Health clients News editing, copy editing, story writing, headline writing, content creation, story pitching and assigning, uploading digital content, payroll compilation and submission Experience Candidates must have no less than one year of managerial experience in newspapers, magazines or online media. Must possess excellent writing and editing skills, full command of the English language (both written and spoken), strong communications and organizational skills, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate has experience as a newspaper or magazine writer and editor, and with conducting interviews, researching and gathering information, content planning, feature story writing and copy editing. Familiarity with AP Style is desirable; candidate must be willing to inform self further on proper use of AP Style.

Also:

Proven experience in print or digital journalism with a strong portfolio of published articles or multimedia projects. Excellent written communication skills with a keen eye for detail in copywriting and proofreading. Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards for news broadcast videography and content editing. Strong research skills combined with a passion for storytelling that informs and engages readers. $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
