Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Men's Sr Apparel Designer to join a retail team in Manhattan Beach, California on a Long-term Contract assignment. In this role, you will help drive men's apparel design from early concept through production while working closely with design leadership and cross-functional partners. The position is ideal for someone who combines strong creative judgment with technical expertise and can manage multiple seasonal deadlines in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the development of seasonal men's apparel concepts and carry designs forward through each stage of execution.
- Build and maintain detailed tech packs and accurate product data within Flex PLM to support development and production readiness.
- Collaborate with materials, merchandising, and costing partners to shape fabrics, trims, and print direction that supports both brand vision and target margins.
- Analyze domestic and international market activity to identify emerging trends, relevant silhouettes, fabric ideas, and competitor movement.
- Work with design leadership to define fit intent and communicate clear direction to technical design teams for consistent product execution.
- Share design revisions, timeline updates, and development priorities with cross-functional stakeholders to keep seasonal calendars on track.
- Manage several product timelines at once, balancing shifting priorities in a fast-paced and highly collaborative setting.
- Address development obstacles with a solutions-oriented mindset and escalate issues when needed to maintain progress.
- Apply a refined eye for style, color, and customer relevance to create product that aligns with the brand's aesthetic.
- Support product execution with strong knowledge of garment construction, sewing methods, trim application, and fabrication details.
