You will not be sitting at a desk. If you love working with your hands, being around plants all day, and seeing an event come together, this job is for you. Freelance florists and floral designers looking for steady part-time hours between gigs are encouraged to apply. About The Plant Library The Plant Library is a full-service plant rental company that transforms events through curated collections of living plants. We support events, conferences, film and set decor, and photoshoots. Through our Rent. Enjoy. Return. model, every plant comes back to our studio for care and reuse, so great design and sustainability go hand in hand. What you'll actually do Pot, prep, and groom tabletop plants: planting, pruning, wiping leaves, watering Care for the living inventory in our Berkeley studio and keep the racks organized Stage, label, and pack plants and materials so installs go out clean and complete Load and unload vehicles before and after events Work onsite at installs: placing plants, dressing sets, and breaking everything down after Flag shortages, plant health issues, and anything that could slow down an install Light record keeping on our inventory trackers (a small slice of the day, done standing in the studio, not at a desk) The physical part, so there are no surprises You'll be on your feet for most of every shift, lifting and carrying plants and materials (up to about 50 lbs), and working early mornings on install days. Who thrives in this role Freelance florists and floral designers who want reliable part-time hours that flex around their own gigs People from nurseries, greenhouses, flower shops, landscaping, or garden centers Event production, catering, retail, or backstage crew who know what load-in and strike mean Anyone dependable who likes making things with their hands and cares about details Need to haves Reliable, dependable, and communicative Able to perform the physical work described above, with or without reasonable accommodation Available for in-person work at our Berkeley studio, including some early mornings Careful with details: the right plants, in the right condition, to the right event Nice to haves Floral or florist experience (freelance florists, we mean you) Plant care, nursery, greenhouse, or landscaping background Event install, production, or setup/teardown experience Valid driver's license
