Job Description
About the Role The Event Designer is a client-facing, full-time, in-office position responsible for generating new business, building lasting client relationships, and designing refined, luxury events that align with both creative vision and financial goals. This role represents HMR Designs through thoughtful design leadership, strategic sales, and exceptional client service. Working collaboratively with internal teams and creative partners, the Event Designer leads clients through the sales and design process from initial inquiry through execution, ensuring clarity, creativity, and seamless delivery at every stage. Compensation & Benefits Salary plus commission Paid vacation and sick/personal time during the first year Eligibility for health, dental, and vision insurance, FSA, STD, LTD, life insurance, 401(k), and cell phone reimbursement Schedule Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm Evenings and weekends as required by event schedules Qualifications Polished, professional client presence with strong interpersonal skills Proven sales, negotiation, and relationship-building experience Clear written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously Proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented Advanced hands-on floral design experience with strong knowledge of current industry styles and trends Proficiency with macOS, Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Cloud, and related tools Ability to quickly learn and use Direct, the company's proprietary event management system Experience in event design, floral design, interior design, or a related creative field Stylish business casual dress and excellent personal grooming required Responsibilities Sales & Client Relationships Develop creative, profitable floral and event designs for weddings, corporate, and social events Lead client meetings and mockups, aligning vision, budget, and expectations Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new and returning clients Participate in outbound sales and lead-generation efforts Design Development & Planning Create proposals and event Creatives using Direct Review inventory availability and pricing to support design concepts Design floral models for mockups and event production Ensure all designs align with HMR standards and brand aesthetic Production & Execution Coordinate venue site surveys and assess installation logistics Oversee custom projects, rentals, and subcontractor coordination Collaborate with Event Producers, Floral Designers, and Production teams Oversee on-site event execution, serving as a point of contact and ensuring seamless delivery Systems & Brand Support Maintain accurate scheduling and client records Communicate consistently with Management regarding event status Support promotional events and special projects as needed This role description outlines the general scope of responsibilities and may evolve based on business needs.
