Job Description
Florist Bar & Co. is looking for a creative, reliable, and customer-focused Floral Designer to join our team in Flushing, Queens. We are a unique café and flower shop that combines floral design, specialty coffee, and hospitality. We're looking for someone with a strong eye for design, a passion for flowers and plants, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Design and create fresh flower bouquets and floral arrangements Assist customers in selecting flowers and creating custom bouquets Process, condition, and care for fresh flowers to maximize quality and longevity Maintain the health and appearance of in-store plants, potted plants, and floral displays Identify and properly care for a wide variety of flowers, foliage, and plants Receive, organize, and process flower deliveries Maintain cleanliness and organization of the floral workspace and display areas Operate POS systems and process customer transactions Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable customer service Assist with special orders, holidays, events, and floral installations when needed Support daily shop operations and inventory management Required Qualifications Previous floral design, flower shop, nursery, greenhouse, or plant care experience preferred Ability to create hand-tied bouquets and floral arrangements independently Knowledge of flower and plant care, processing, conditioning, and maintenance Familiarity with a variety of fresh flowers, foliage, and indoor plants Strong sense of aesthetics, color combinations, and floral design Excellent customer service and communication skills Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Weekend availability Preferred Qualifications Professional floral design experience Experience with weddings, events, or custom floral work Knowledge of indoor plant care and maintenance Experience with POS systems such as Square Social media, photography, or content creation experience What We're Looking For Passion for flowers, plants, and design Positive attitude and strong work ethic Attention to detail Creativity and strong visual presentation skills Willingness to learn and grow Professional appearance and communication Ability to work independently and as part of a team Compensation Competitive hourly pay based on experience Tips Employee discount Growth opportunities within the company If you have a passion for flowers, plants, and creating beautiful customer experiences, we'd love to hear from you.
