Machine Specialist/Adjuster with
Winchester Location:
Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, Independence, MO Join the Team That Supports America's Warfighter Join the team supporting America's Warfighter at the world's largest producer of small-caliber ammunition. As a Machine Specialist/Adjuster you would be responsible for performing mechanical adjustments and/or repairs to high-speed automated production equipment while earning competitive pay, industry-leading benefits, and opportunities for career growth.
Starting Pay:
Machine Specialist starts at $25.60/hour and will increase to $29.25/hour after successful completion of 120-day probationary period. Machine Adjuster starts at $24.80/hour and will increase to $28.33/hour after successful completion of 120-day probationary period.
Schedule:
4-10s or 3 - 12-hour shifts with overtime as needed. (Weekend and weeknight shift available)
Shift Differentials:
Weeknight Shifts ($.70 per hour) and Weekend night shifts ($2.00 per hour)

Machine Specialist/Adjuster Essential Job Functions:
Sets up and operates machines, performs mechanical adjustments and repairs production equipment. Visual inspections of parts and components, including finished product while using a variety of gages, to ensure manufacturing specifications are achieved. Removes, installs and adjusts punches, dies, eject stems, bolts, etc., using various hand tools for proper alignment. Pushes hand trucks and fills hoppers to keep machines supplied with materials.
Machine Adjuster Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Basic working knowledge of mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Experience operating mechanical production type equipment preferred. Ability to use power and non-power hand tools. Ability to stand for prolonged periods, reach overheard, twist and bend at the waist, climb ladders and stairs. Ability to lift and carry 30-40 lbs., push up to 1,000 lbs. pounds, including team lifts and use of support devices (hand cart, pallet jacks, gondolas, etc.) Must have full vision, including color vision. Ability and willingness to work any shift, including weekends and overtime.
Machine Specialist Preferred Qualifications:
Please note, to be considered for the Specialist level position, you must meet all posted requirements above and below: Demonstrated advanced experience in machine operation including but not limited to adjustments, repairs and maintenance including preventative maintenance, and tooling change overs. Familiarity with automated system management including
HMI, PLC
systems, or CNC equipment. Experience operating mechanical equipment or heavy equipment such as hand trucks or forklifts. Hands-on experience with diagnosis of machine issues and repair. Examples including but not limited to repairs and diagnostic experience with automotive, ATV's, small engine repair etc. Experience repairing manufacturing line equipment preferred. Experience with machining tools such as lathes, milling machines, saws, fabrication and/or blueprints. Ability to use measuring devices, micrometers, calipers.
Location-Specific Requirements:
This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required. This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
