Job Description

We are a leading manufacturer of team sports equipment, and are seeking a product engineer to work with a cross functional team to design, develop and release new products. Responsibilities include managing a team of 2-3 people, preparing all design documentation (drawings, specs, ERP data, BOMs, routers, packaging) to transition from prototype to full scale production. Position will also review existing products for changes to manufacturing processes and packaging. Responsible for product cycle management and overseeing ECN process. Position will also support technical service product inquiries. BSME, proficient with 3-D CAD solid modeling, familiar with ERP and PDM systems. Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field (BSME or BSCE preferred) 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred Proficient in solid modeling, ideally with Autodesk Inventor Experience with PDM systems, preferably Autodesk Vault Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally Syteline Knowledge of various materials and fabrication processes is a plus LEAN principles training is preferred Highly self-motivated with strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities Ability to demonstrate strong ownership by taking initiative and leading efforts with minimal supervision. Ability to thrive and drive in a fast-paced environment with excellent problem-solving skills Ability to make decisions independently and effectively Ability to complete projects to meet project deadlines Responsibilities Managing a team of 2-3 people. Lead the development of new products, from initial concept through design and manufacturing. Evaluate product designs for manufacturability, functionality, cost-effectiveness, ensuring seamless integration into the production line for full-scale manufacturing. Oversee prototype production runs to ensure new designs are manufactured in a timely manner. Develop product structures and routings in ERP. Create and maintain technical documentation, including bill of materials (BOMs), manufacturing routings and work instructions. Collaborate with the internal design team for manufacturing drawings or revisions. Conduct product testing and evaluations to ensure the products meet industry standards and customer expectations. Assemble and conduct first piece inspections for external vendor products and provide necessary feedback to the supplier. Continuously identify areas of improvement in existing products and manufacturing processes, working to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Develop strategies to optimize packaging for both product protection, cost reductions and / or bulk shipments. Oversee the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process for all product updates or modifications. Enforce revision control and corrective action plan for all ECN's. Address field issues related to manufacturing defects or incorrect hardware. Support Customer Service with product related questions or concerns. Recommend and implement corrective action plans such as product reworks, adjusting manufacturing processes, or design modifications. Join us in shaping innovative products that make a difference!
