Product Design Engineer -
Emergency Eye Wash and Shower Industry About Us:
MIFAB, Inc., located on Chicago's south side, is an energetic company in the commercial drainage and plumbing industry that is constantly growing by offering new and innovative products. We are aggressively growing our emergency safety equipment line. We are looking a Product Development Engineer to lead product development in this sector.
What You'll Do:
Work collaboratively with the engineering team to design new emergency safety products based on market demands and industry specifications Use SolidWorks to create 3D models, 2D drawings, and perform CFD and FEA Create, update, and maintain drawing packets Communicate with suppliers, test labs, and certifying bodies to bring new products to market Work closely with multiple departments to support sales, purchasing, and customer service
About You:
You creatively and efficiently solve design problems and are proficient at using design software to implement those solutions. A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, and a strong technical background in engineering principles and design is a must You are experienced working with CAD Software, particularly SolidWorks You have a high aptitude for absorbing new information quickly and implementing it to solve problems You effectively organize your tasks and time to meet expectations with impactful results You value personal and professional growth and are eager to learn new ideas and systems
A Few Extras:
An engineering background, particularly in mechanical engineering, is very helpful in this role You can effectively communicate through writing and speaking. You are familiar with basic office software, like Excel and Outlook. You are open to travel to test labs and supplier facilities

$50-$60K Annually - Based on
