Job Description

The Technical Manager is responsible to ensure overall program level technical feasibility and achievement of performance & KPI targets during the full program life cycle.

The Candidate responsibilities include:

Managing the technical content, definition and configuration of the Platform including:

BOM Management for the Platform including Change ManagementTechnical data and VISBOM contentPlatform diversity and component interchangeabilityAchieving Quality, Cost, Timing, and Performance ObjectivesCoordinating with purchasing for RFQ, supplier selection, and change managementSupporting regional requirements and contentLeading the technical activity of component and system development:

Design, development, and validation of component and systemsLeading decision / stakeholder meetings at the platform levelDesign freeze and tooling kick offConformity of regulatory requirementsCoordination of technical teamsCoordinating activities with Manufacturing Engineering and the plant:

Alignment of design and manufacturing process to support cost, investment, and quality objectivesCompatibility of product and processPackaging issues and requirements with logisticsMake buy convergenceManaging the technical relationship with Top Hats, other Platforms, and Advanced EngineeringConfirming that platform supports Top Hat requirements and future product requirements
Critical Skills:
Design and Development of components/systems associated with Chassis, Propulsion, or Body through a full project cycle.

Understanding of vehicle construction by systems (Body, Chassis, Powertrain, Interior, etc) and subsystems (Underbody, suspension, trim, cooling, HVAC, etc).Understanding part break up of vehicles and how they are assembled.

Ability to identify and organize technical commodities into their functional purpose.

Identify and propose design alternatives to meet and exceed aggressive cost targets

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related degree field8 years of Automotive Industry experienceExperience in vehicle / component design / release engineering, vehicle finance cost, program management, and / or component cost analysisExperience with NVH, Durability, SafetyExcellent leadership communications / people skillsAttention to detailAble to manage change and present ideas / concepts to all levels of managementAble to motivate and lead people that do not report directly to youMS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
