Job Description
Job Purpose Summary:
At Kitchen, Bath & More, every team member plays a role in delivering the craftsmanship, service, and experience our clients rely on. The Design & Project Assistant works closely with a Lead Designer to support the day-to-day demands of a growing portfolio of contractor and residential projects. This role is hands-on and varied, contributing to design work, estimating, product selections, and project coordination to help expand the Lead Designer's capacity and keep projects moving forward with accuracy and care. More than just a support role, this position is designed with growth in mind. The right person will gain deep familiarity with KBM's products, systems, and design process, building the foundation to step into a full Designer role with their own clients and projects over time.Location:
Mankato, MN (in office) Reports to: Lead DesignerKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design Support- Assist with kitchen and bath designs alongside the Lead Designer
- Create and update 20/20 drawings
- Complete project revisions accurately and in a timely manner
- Assist with measurements and gathering on-side project information
- Assist in increasing the number of projects the Lead and design team can effectively manage
- Improve turnaround times for project renderings, revisions, and quotes
- Help with design team organization and client communication
- Assist with administrative tasks and project needs to keep the Lead Designer focused on design and client work Estimating & Project Preparation
- Assist with estimates and proposals
- Gather pricing from vendors
- Help prepare product selections and specifications
- Prepare projects for ordering Project Coordination & Communication
- Maintain accurate project files and CRM information
- Follow up on missing project information and outstanding items
- Help track project deadlines and keep projects on schedule
- Coordinate samples and product information for clients and contractors
- Assist with contractor and customer communication as needed Product Knowledge & Growth
- Learn KBM's full product offerings, including cabinets, countertops, flooring, tile, plumbing, and interior finishes
- Take on additional project responsibilities as skills and experience grow Accepts other projects and duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in design, architecture, or building materials is a plus but not required
- Interest in interior design, kitchen and bath design, and/or the construction industry
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorites at once
- Strong computer skills and willing to learn 20/20 Design and KBM's other software and systems
- Good communication skills and reliable follow-through
- Team-oriented and willing to pitch in where needed
