As Cerebral Staffing , we are seeking a curious, methodical Product Safety and Compliance Engineer to join our team supporting our client, John Deere , at their Turf and Compact Utility division in Fuquay-Varina, NC . Product Engineer I - Product Safety and Compliance This is an exceptional career-launching 2+ year contract opportunity paying up to $45/hr , including 2 weeks of PTO . Operating fully onsite at the Fuquay-Varina product center on a balanced 1st shift, this position is specifically designed to cultivate entry-level or early-career engineering talent. Rather than requiring years of industry tenure, John Deere is looking for sharp minds who can demonstrate how they approach engineering research, how they think critically through data processes, and how they compile compliance architectures for commercial mowing and golf equipment portfolios.
Position Details & Compensation Pay Rate:
Up to $45/hr (W2).
Location:
100% Onsite at John Deere Turf Care (Fuquay-Varina, NC).
Duration:
2+ Years (An excellent multi-year contract runway for professional growth).
Shift & Hours:
1st Shift, with core flexible hours typically running Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

Core Responsibilities Data Gathering & Analysis:
Consolidate, evaluate, and audit raw technical data sets funneling in from physical test labs, product engineering desks, and cross-functional design nodes.
Compliance Documentation Generation:
Prepare, organize, and submit official compliance files and safety declaration reports for commercial mowing, golf machinery, and utility turf products.
Template Architecture & Maintenance:
Create, systematically update, and maintain standardized data tracking templates to log active product testing iterations and regulatory milestones.
Global Market Research:
Coordinate directly with external, third-party organizations and agencies to gather international market-entry requirements, verifying regional distribution legality.
Consensus Building:
Review dense regulatory documentation, explain localized constraints to design teams, and help align stakeholders toward unified safety recommendations.
Required Skills & Experience Critical Thinking Mindset:
Ability to clearly articulate your scientific approach to research, showing how you structure data analysis and solve complex process loops.
Regulatory Interpretation Capabilities:
Comfortable reviewing, breaking down, and translating complex industrial standards, safety regulations, or legal product requirements.
Project Workflow Management:
Strong capacity to track and push forward multiple simultaneous document pipelines without losing focus on detail accuracy.
Refined Communication Habits:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the capability to tailor highly technical findings into digestible formats for varying audiences.
Education Foundations:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline. What Makes You Stand Out Foundational familiarity or academic projects touching mobile off-road machinery, automotive systems, or heavy ag equipment layouts. Exposure to or awareness of global industrial standards frameworks (e.g., ISO, SAE, EN, IEC, or UL regulations).
