Build the machines. Run them. Make them better. Most 3D printing jobs are desk-sized. This one is not. Injection molding needs a six-figure tool and thousands of units before the math works. That's why almost everything gets made overseas, in volume. Our machines print short runs, here, with no tooling at all. We build the Virago 700 and Virago 1200: industrial pellet-fed 3D printers with build volumes measured in feet. They run in universities, government labs, and research institutions. They also run here. We keep a farm of them running: production on one side, new applications on the other. Commercial furniture is one line of work. The rest is parts nobody has printed at this size yet. We're one of very few companies in the country that builds large-format 3D printers and manufactures its own product line on them. What you learn on the floor goes back into the next revision. We're hiring at every level. Early in your career, you'll learn the platform from the people who built it. Senior, you'll have real authority over how these machines get better.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Assemble, wire, calibrate, and commission Virago 700 and 1200 printers before they ship
• Run and tune production prints: extruder temps, flow, layer adhesion, cooling, warp control on large parts
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and motion-control issues across a working fleet
• Write down what you find, so the next person can use the fix

WHERE IT GOES

This role has a stated growth path to Design Lead.

The path runs:

master the build, own a subsystem, own a revision, own the platform. Along the way you'll take on customer support directly. Talking someone through a machine over the phone teaches you what needs to change in it. We design parts with AI tools alongside CAD. If you bring CAD skill, you'll use it early. If you don't have it yet, we'll put you in front of the work that builds it. How fast you move is up to you.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Required

• Hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability. You find root causes.
• Comfort with hand tools, multimeters, and reading a wiring diagram
• Willingness to learn the material science side: polymers, moisture, shrink, warp
• Reliable, on-site, and able to own a machine from crate to first good part Helpful, not required
• FDM, FGF, or pellet-extrusion experience
• CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)
• Motion control, stepper and servo systems, or PLC work
• Mechatronics, manufacturing engineering, or a trades background We hire for curiosity and rigor over credentials.

The bar is high, and we'll leave the seat open until someone clears it. Career changers from machining, automation, HVAC, automotive, or field service have done well on equipment like this.
