$42 - 45 per hourCella is seeking an experienced Color Designer for an exciting 6-month contract opportunity based on-site in Beaverton, Oregon. This role offers the unique opportunity to design and execute compelling seasonal color stories, palettes, and market-right product executions for iconic and next-generation footwear lines.
Responsibilities:
Product Color Design:
Develop and execute seasonal color palettes, stories, and product-specific solutions from concept through commercialization. Review physical samples and communicate detailed revisions to ensure high color accuracy and execution standards.
Creative & Trend Research:
Research global fashion, lifestyle, color, and sneaker culture trends. Utilize consumer insights to build distinct narrative moodboards and drive innovative seasonal color directions.
Product Execution & Documentation:
Maintain precise line art, CAD file organization, and color specification documentation across product lines to hit all operational milestones.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Coordinate with Development and Materials teams on material applications, finishes, and special effects while communicating design intent clearly across departments.
Team Contribution:
Share color design expertise and best practices within the studio while providing support and mentorship to junior design team members
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Design, Color Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, or equivalent experience, paired with 5+ years of dedicated color design experience (footwear experience strongly preferred).
Portfolio Requirement:
A comprehensive portfolio demonstrating strong color storytelling, context-driven choices, moodboards, and narrative development within the streetwear, lifestyle, or sportswear spaces.
Technical Proficiency:
Expert-level mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, alongside standard CAD file management.
Industry Knowledge:
Deep understanding of sneaker culture, color theory, consumer trends, materials, finishes, and the end-to-end product creation process.
Professional Skills:
Proven ability to manage multiple project timelines simultaneously with exceptional collaboration, organization, and cross-functional communication skills.
