+ Progression Maryland Heights, MO (Commutable from: St. Louis, St. Charles, Chesterfield, Florissant, Clayton, Creve Coeur, Bridgeton, Hazelwood) Are you a Mechanical Designer looking for genuine variety, flexible hours and hybrid working in a hands-on design-and-build environment? Do you want to take your designs from concept through to a completed machine, built in-house? This is a permanent position with a growing specialist manufacturer, adding to the team due to workload and expansion. You'll join a small, close-knit team where you can take on more responsibility and make a visible impact as the business continues to grow. The company designs and manufactures custom material handling machinery entirely in-house, so you'll see your designs machined, fabricated, assembled and brought to life. Significant training and progression are available for the right person. In this role, you'll split your time between 3D mechanical design and hands-on shop involvement, including tool building, fit-up and assembly, working alongside welders, fabricators and the wider manufacturing team. This role suits a Mechanical Designer motivated by genuine progression into more senior-level responsibility and potentially management within a small, growing company.
The Role:
Design custom machinery from concept through to completed build Work closely with the shop and manufacturing team throughout the design and build process Monday-Friday, approximately 40 hours per week with flexible working hours Based in Maryland Heights with the opportunity to work from home 2-3 days per week
The Person:
Mechanical design background with experience designing machinery or mechanical equipment 3D CAD experience; ideally Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks Hands-on manufacturing experience including tooling, machining, fabrication, fit-up or assembly Associate's degree in Mechanical Design/Engineering or equivalent experience
