Job Description

McPhee Associates is an award-winning family-owned, design and build firm that has been building and remodeling high-end Cape Cod residences since 1972. We are seeking an Assistant Interior Design & Selections Coordinator to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented opportunity to become involved in high-end custom residential projects from the selection phase through construction. You will work directly with clients, designers, project managers, and construction professionals while helping coordinate the many details that keep projects organized and moving forward. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, personable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A genuine interest in interior design, residential construction, and exceptional client service is important.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with client communications, both in person and digitally. Accompany clients to local showrooms and assist with selections for custom homes. Help prepare for client meetings, showroom appointments, and selection presentations. Review architectural and design plans and help identify selection and design details requiring attention. Provide basic design support and assist in developing selections based on project requirements and client preferences. Assist with developing selection schedules as projects move into construction. Maintain accurate records of client selections, specifications, pricing, and orders. Assist with placing orders and tracking selection items from order through delivery. Follow up on orders, lead times, deliveries, and outstanding information. Help ensure selections are completed and available to the construction team when needed. Maintain organized selection files and project documentation. Assist with creating and maintaining project-specific selection tracking systems. Help organize and maintain the office selection showroom and samples. Assist in coordinating selections and design details with project construction schedules. Participate in occasional job-site visits with clients, designers, and construction team members. Review layouts, selections, and design details in the field. Assist with documenting project progress and identifying items requiring follow-up. Learn and maintain proficiency with company project management and communication software, including BuilderTrend. Maintain organized digital and physical project files. Use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, for correspondence, spreadsheets, and documentation. Provide administrative and organizational support to the Interior Design & Selections Coordinator and Project Management/Field teams. CAD and/or 3D design experience is helpful but not required.
Skillset:
Previous experience in interior design, residential construction, selections, purchasing, project coordination, or a related field is highly preferred. Ability to read and understand basic architectural plans is required. Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Professional, personable, and service-oriented approach when working with clients. Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively with clients, designers, project managers, and construction professionals. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability and willingness to learn company-specific software and systems. Willingness and ability to travel locally to showrooms and project sites as needed.
Work Environment:
Full time, office-based position with periodic visits to job sites and show rooms. Collaborative design-build team environment. Regular interaction with clients, designers, project managers, vendors and construction personnel.
