Must be enrolled or recent graduate in a Bachelor's /Master's Program at an accredited college/university Here at MOD Interiors we are celebrating our culture of modern classic design, creativity, customization, and a passion for improving the lives of every client with personalized design experience. We are currently seeking an interior design intern with interest in residential design and home staging. Excellent customer service, organizational skills and attention to detail are a must. The main purpose of this position is to keep senior designer organized so she can focus on the design instead of micromanaging day to day details. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to gain experience working in an office, and as a design assistant and BUILD their RESUME. General duties include, but are not limited to general office work, running errands, answering phones, messages, scheduling, shopping for office supplies, responding to emails, letters, communicating with clients and vendors, customer service, filing, and day-to-day support.
JOB DUTIES
Maintain accurate file information, including dimensions & designs Assist in design presentation development Verify material selection, FF&E, pricing and availability Tracking shipments & coordinating deliveries Organize and catalog samples Create and maintain client folders and project binders Initial research and sourcing of design elements based on project specifications Field measuring Assist in purchasing and overseeing existing inventory Handling special administrative projects and assist with overflow work Administrative and office support activities, maintaining spreadsheets/data entry, filing, faxing, and Internet research Must be extremely detail oriented with strong attention to follow-through Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form Flexible in work functions and duties Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Assist in - Accounts payable, accounts receivable, new project activities, etc. as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Current Interior Design or Architecture undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in an accredited program. Must have working knowledge Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, and Revit a PLUS. Works well within a team environment Ability to effectively Self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines, be proactive in determining the necessary steps to meet goals and project objectives Detail oriented, Reliability, resourcefulness and adaptability Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills Able to work in high-pressure situations with tight deadlines Develop and maintain on-going project documentation, including setting up client/project billing/accounting, vendor relations and updating shared project folders. Create proposals, invoices and purchase orders and generate reports for projects. Place/track product orders and arrange installations. Assist team with design presentations. Source/select materials and samples as needed to support presentations. Assist in preparing fixture, furniture, finishes and fabric spreadsheets. Research products; obtain quotes; confirm product availability and specifications. Coordinate with principal designer to manage products through completion and installation.
