Junior Interior Designer Paul Moon Design — Seattle, Washington About Paul Moon Design Paul Moon Design is a long-standing, boutique West Coast residential design practice working across architecture, interior design, and landscape . We are a small, collaborative team creating thoughtful, highly crafted residential environments with an emphasis on design, materials, and detail. We are looking for a Junior Interior Designer to work closely with our Interior Design Director and established team. This position is primarily focused on drafting, project organization, materials coordination, purchasing support, and general production assistance . It is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is organized, detail-oriented, technically capable, and eager to learn. Responsibilities Interior Design & Project Support Support the Interior Design Director with day-to-day project needs and priorities Research and source materials, finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and products Order, track, receive, and organize material samples Communicate with vendors, manufacturers, showrooms, and representatives Assist with material boards, finish boards, and presentation materials Assist with furnishings and project purchasing using Studio Designer Help maintain organized project information, documentation, and records Drafting & Production Produce and modify 2D interior elevations and related drawings using AutoCAD Assist with interior design documentation and project drawings Provide drafting support to the architecture and landscape teams as needed Work directly with the Principal on architectural drafting and drawing development Use SketchUp for project development and visualization Use Bluebeam to review, mark up, organize, and coordinate project documents Project Organization Track samples, product information, vendor responses, and other project details Assist with project coordination and follow-through Prepare and organize project information using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Help ensure project decisions and information are properly documented Manage assigned tasks independently and complete them accurately and on time What We're Looking For The most important qualities for this position are organization, attention to detail, technical ability, reliability, and a willingness to learn .
The ideal candidate will have:
Proficiency in AutoCAD Ability to produce accurate 2D drawings and interior elevations Strong organizational and communication skills Good follow-through and attention to detail Ability to follow directions and manage multiple priorities Comfort communicating with vendors and manufacturers A collaborative and professional attitude A willingness to learn new software, systems, products, and materials 0-2 years of professional experience , including relevant internships A degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field is preferred but not required Preferred software experience: SketchUp, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Studio Designer. Working Environment & Benefits This is primarily an in-office position because we value collaboration and working closely together as a small team. Transportation A reliable personal vehicle is required for this position. The role includes travel to job sites, showrooms, vendors, and suppliers, as well as picking up and delivering materials and samples. Mileage for approved business-related travel will be reimbursed at the applicable IRS mileage rate.
