Key Qualifications:

Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students, preferably in a school setting Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities used within the DHH community Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and the ability to foster an inclusive classroom Ability to individualize instruction and support based on student needs and

IEPs Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver direct and consultative instruction to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, utilizing appropriate communication techniques Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), monitoring progress and adapting strategies as needed Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and families to ensure student growth and access Facilitate classroom accommodations, assistive technology use, and communication strategies to remove barriers Conduct ongoing assessments to track academic, social, and language progress Advocate for student access, inclusion, and self-advocacy within the school community This role offers the chance to make a significant difference while building lasting relationships.
