Desired Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other commonly used sign languages Valid sign language interpreting certification (e.g., RID or equivalent) Previous experience interpreting in educational settings is preferred Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and diverse student needs Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
Provide sign language interpretation for students and staff in classroom and school activities Facilitate communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and others Support students academic and social participation through accurate, ethical interpreting Collaborate closely with educators and specialists for individualized support Adhere to confidentiality and ethical standards at all times
