This contract position involves working directly with one student, providing clear and effective communication assistance to ensure accessibility and engagement within the educational environment.

Responsibilities include:

Delivering sign language interpretation services tailored to the needs of a middle school student Facilitating communication between the student, educators, and support staff during telehealth and in-person sessions Collaborating with educational professionals to enhance learning experiences through accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions Adapting interpretation methods to accommodate evolving student needs and educational settings Desired qualifications and experience: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with certification as a Sign Language Interpreter Experience working with middle school-age students in educational or telehealth environments Strong understanding of educational terminology and protocols related to middle school curricula Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on a contract basis Excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity
