Desired Qualifications:

Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school or educational environment Ability to interpret and translate classroom instruction and communication between students, teachers, and peers Knowledge of best practices for supporting students with special education needs (SPED) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Relevant certifications or credentials for educational interpreting (such as EIPA, RID, or similar) Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide real-time interpretation for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Facilitate communication between students, classroom teachers, and support staff Support classroom learning through clear and effective interpretation of lessons, instructions, and discussions Collaborate with special education professionals and Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams to optimize student success Document and report student progress and any concerns as appropriate Participate in team meetings and ongoing training to stay current with best practices This role offers the chance to make a positive difference every day, working with students who thrive through your skills and dedication.
