About the Role Lars Andersen & Associates is seeking an organized, proactive Site Development Coordinator to guide commercial development projects from preliminary site review and due diligence through entitlement approval and design-team handoff. This person will serve as the central point of coordination among the client, internal team, governmental agencies, and specialty consultants, keeping decisions, deliverables, risks, and deadlines moving across multiple projects. Key Responsibilities Coordinate preliminary site feasibility and due diligence, including zoning and land-use requirements, site access and circulation, utilities, drainage, floodplain and environmental constraints, title and survey matters, easements, development standards, and agency approval pathways. Develop and maintain a project-specific tracking schedule. Update it weekly to identify each task, responsible party, deadline, dependency, current status, critical-path concern, and required client decision. Lead multidisciplinary coordination with environmental and geotechnical consultants, traffic engineers, civil and structural engineers, surveyors, architects, landscape architects, electrical and utility consultants, fire and life-safety consultants, and other specialists required by the jurisdiction or site. Organize and conduct consultant and client meetings; prepare focused agendas, document decisions and action items, distribute meeting summaries, and follow through until assigned items are completed. Research and confirm entitlement, permitting, public-notice, and submittal requirements; coordinate pre-application meetings and agency reviews; maintain complete records of correspondence, comments, approvals, and commitments. Prepare and coordinate applications and supporting materials for site plan review, variances, conditional or special use permits, planned unit developments, rezoning, platting, design review, and other location-specific approvals. Attend governmental staff meetings, neighborhood meetings, planning commission and governing-body hearings, and other public proceedings as required; coordinate presentation materials and consultant testimony. Travel is Required. Review consultant scopes, proposals, schedules, and deliverables for completeness and alignment with project objectives; identify gaps, conflicts, long-lead approvals, and emerging risks early and recommend practical next steps. Provide concise ongoing project summaries and conduct twice-monthly client status meetings covering progress, decisions, agency and consultant dependencies, upcoming deadlines, budget or scope concerns, and recovery plans for delayed items. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, urban planning, architecture, construction management, real estate development, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered. Three or more years of commercial site development, due diligence, entitlement, civil engineering, planning, architecture, or development project coordination experience preferred. Working knowledge of zoning, entitlements, site plans, plats, surveys, easements, utilities, access, drainage, and multidisciplinary design coordination; ability to read and interpret technical plans and agency comments. Strong scheduling, organization, follow-up, meeting facilitation, writing, and client-service skills, with the judgment to manage multiple active projects and elevate risks promptly. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project-tracking or scheduling software; willingness to travel for site visits, agency meetings, client meetings, and public hearings. Professional licensure is not required.
