This role involves interpreting spoken and written language between Spanish-speaking clients, witnesses, attorneys, and court personnel, ensuring that all parties understand each other fully. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of legal terminology across various practice areas, including family law, immigration law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, and more. As a vital link in the justice system, you will help uphold fairness and transparency by providing precise interpretation services in a fast-paced courtroom environment. Duties Provide real-time interpretation for court proceedings, including trials, hearings, depositions, and client interviews in both Spanish and English Translate legal documents such as affidavits, contracts, wills, trusts, estate planning documents, and court filings with accuracy and attention to detail Assist attorneys and court staff by reviewing legal cases and documents to ensure proper understanding of content in both languages Facilitate communication between Spanish-speaking clients and legal professionals by interpreting legal counsel advice and client questions effectively Support research efforts related to legal case management by translating relevant materials and summarizing key points Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times while adhering to professional standards of conduct Use American Sign Language (ASL) if applicable to assist deaf or hard-of-hearing clients or court personnel when needed Skills Fluency in Spanish and English with exceptional interpretation and translation skills in both languages Deep knowledge of legal terminology across multiple practice areas including employment & labor law, immigration law, family law, landlord-tenant law, DUI law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, wills/trusts/estate law, litigation, contracts, Section 8 housing regulations, research methods, and document review processes Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and accurately Experience with legal case management systems and legal drafting techniques Ability to interpret effectively in high-pressure courtroom settings while maintaining professionalism Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus for supporting diverse client needs Bilingual proficiency with excellent research skills to support case preparation Knowledge of interpretation standards related to confidentiality and impartiality Join us as a Spanish Interpreter to make a meaningful impact on the justice process!
