Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Take your passion for supporting students and your skills in American Sign Language to the next level in this engaging contract opportunity as an ASL Paraprofessional. In this after-school position, you'll provide valuable assistance to students who are deaf or hard of hearing at various educational sites in the Gridley, CA area. With part-time hours (20-24 hours per week), you'll make a meaningful difference in students' daily lives while maintaining flexibility in your own schedule.
Key Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required Previous experience as a Paraprofessional in an educational setting preferred EIPA certification is not required for this role An approachable, patient, and supportive demeanor Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
Role Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or small group support for students who use ASL Assist in classroom activities, reinforcing lesson content through sign language Promote inclusive communication between students and educators Adapt instructional materials and methods for individual student needs Supervise students and ensure safety during after-school programming
Schedule and Setting:
Daily hours are 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM Support students across multiple school sites 20-24 hours per week, ideal for balancing work and personal commitments Bring your dedication to student success and your ASL expertise to an educational environment where every day is rewarding and impactful.
