This posting is not for a single immediate opening. We are building a network of highly qualified interpreters who can provide interpreting services as assignments become available. Once hired and onboarded, interpreters will be contacted based on client demand, qualifications, geographic location, and availability. This opportunity is ideal for interpreters seeking flexible supplemental work while becoming part of a respected, relationship-focused agency. Position Summary Interpreters may be offered assignments including: K-12 School Districts IEP Meetings Regional Center Programs Medical Appointments Community Programs Parent Conferences Trainings & Workshops Business Meetings Home Visits Assignments vary in location, schedule, and duration based on client needs. Responsibilities Provide accurate, complete, and culturally appropriate ASL-English interpretation. Adhere to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct. Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, and applicable privacy laws. Arrive on time, prepared, and professionally dressed. Represent TNT Interpreting with professionalism, integrity, and respect. Submit required documentation and mileage reimbursement requests when applicable. Foster meaningful communication while maintaining interpreter neutrality. Applicants should possess one or more of the following: Highly Preferred RID Certification (NIC or other RID-recognized certification) EIPA score of 4.0 or higher (preferred for educational assignments) Graduation from an accredited Interpreter Training Program (ITP) Preferred Experience Educational interpreting Medical interpreting Regional Center services Community interpreting IEP Meetings DeafBlind interpreting (preferred but not required) Strong knowledge of Deaf culture Minimum of two years of professional interpreting experience preferred Requirements RID Certification (NIC or other RID-recognized certification) EIPA score of 4.0 or higher (preferred for educational assignments) Graduation from an accredited Interpreter Training Program (ITP) Valid California Driver License Reliable transportation Current automobile insurance Ability to travel throughout Southern California Eligibility to work in the United States Live Scan background clearance Current TB clearance for school assignments (when applicable) Compensation & Benefits As a member of the TNT Interpreting Professional Interpreter Pool, you'll enjoy: Competitive hourly compensation based on certification and experience W-2 employment Flexible scheduling Two-hour minimum assignment guarantee Mileage reimbursement when applicable California Paid Sick Leave Workers' Compensation coverage Opportunities for growth as our agency expands Who We're Looking For We're seeking interpreters who: Demonstrate professionalism and integrity.
