Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of Deaf and hard of hearing students by supporting their communication and educational experiences in middle and high school settings. This contract-based position offers a full-time schedule of approximately 30 hours per week (6 hours a day) with an immediate and ongoing need throughout the 2026-2027 school year. Work exclusively onsite, collaborating closely with students, teachers, and school staff to foster an inclusive learning environment. Openings are available for varying levels of certification and EIPA scorescandidates with EIPA under 4.0 will be considered as ASL Paras.
Desired Qualifications:
Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf, or a minimum score of 4.0 on EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or
NAD/ACCI
assessment Candidates with EIPA under 4.0 are welcome to apply and will be considered for ASL Para roles Experience interpreting for Deaf and hard of hearing students in educational settings preferred Proficient in both sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation Comfortable working with middle or high school studentspreference can be indicated Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and peers
Primary Responsibilities:
Facilitate communication between Deaf/hard of hearing students and their hearing classmates, teachers, and staff Provide accurate sign language interpretation in both directions (sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign) Assist students academically in subjects like reading, writing, and math, as well as with vocational and daily living skills Monitor and provide support during classroom instruction, outdoor activities, or community-based learning Offer guidance and encouragement to support students educational and social growth If you are passionate about educational access and skilled in sign language interpretation, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to enrich students lives.
