Key Qualifications and Skills:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting skills. Prior experience interpreting in educational settings strongly preferred. Certification or credential as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI). Ability to adapt interpreting style to meet varied communication needs. Professionalism, reliability, and teamwork skills. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and promoting student success. Comfortable working on-site with students and staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

Facilitate clear, effective communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing, school staff, and peers. Interpret classroom lessons, assemblies, parent/teacher meetings, and school events as needed. Support student participation in academic and extracurricular activities.
