Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a young learner as a Sign Language Interpreter for the 26/27 school year. This full-time, in-person position is designed for a skilled interpreter eager to make a difference through direct, meaningful educational access for an elementary-age student. Your expertise will be instrumental, working 1:1 and ensuring that classroom communication is seamless and supportive throughout each school day.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Active EIPA certification at 4.0 or higher (required) Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL) Ability to foster an engaging, inclusive environment for younger learners Dependable, punctual, and able to commit to a full academic year Flexibility and professionalism in adapting to classroom needs
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct interpretation and communication support 1:1 for an elementary student during all school activities Accurately translate spoken language into ASL and vice versa, maintaining clarity and context Collaborate with classroom educators and support staff to ensure consistent and effective communication Maintain confidentiality and uphold all guidelines outlined for educational interpreting Support the student's academic and social participation within the classroom setting This contract role focuses solely on in-person service near Commerce City, CO, providing the unique opportunity to develop a close working relationship and help shape a child's school experience.
