Qualifications/Experience:

Proficiency in American Sign Language demonstrated by an ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher Prior experience supporting students in an educational setting as a Sign Language Interpreter preferred Strong understanding of Deaf culture and communication needs within schools Ability to foster supportive, productive relationships with students, staff, and families Current national or state certification as required Flexibility to adapt interpreting styles based on student needs

Key Responsibilities:

Provide accurate, confidential, and student-centered 1:1 interpreting services during classroom sessions and school activities Facilitate clear communication between students, educators, and peers Support student independence and participation in both academic and extracurricular settings Collaborate with teachers and staff to adapt materials and create an inclusive environment Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards per school and interpreting guidelines
