Job Description
Exciting opportunity available for a certified American Sign Language interpreter seeking a part-time position within a vibrant educational environment. This contract role is designed to provide essential support for high school students participating in after-school activities, ensuring all events are accessible and inclusive. In this role, your interpreting skills will help bridge communication for after-school programs such as band sessions and football games. Your expertise will be integral to student success, community engagement, and a positive extracurricular experience.
Qualifications:
Current certification as an ASL interpreter Experience working in a school or educational setting preferred Strong communication and professionalism in educational environments Ability to work with high school students and adapt to dynamic program needs Commitment to confidentiality and ethical interpreting practicesKey Responsibilities:
Interpret for after-school band sessions Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:45-5:30 p.m., and Thursdays from 6-8:30 p.m. Provide interpreting services during high school football games as scheduled Facilitate clear and effective communication between students, staff, and others Collaborate with educators and program coordinators to understand event needs Maintain accurate records of interpreting assignments as required by the schoolBenefits:
