Job Description
Make a meaningful impact by supporting students in an educational setting as a Sign Language Interpreter. Two openings are available for qualified professionals eager to facilitate communication and enhance learning for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. These contract roles, located near Arlington Heights, IL, offer consistent schedules and the opportunity to use your skills in dynamic schools.
What Youll Need:
Strong sign language interpreting skills in educational settings Valid certifications: EIPA score of 3.5+ with ISBE Approval;EIPA 3.03.4
with interim ISBE Approval; or BEI, ISAS, CI/CT, or NIC with ISBE Approval Fluency in American Sign Language and spoken English Professionalism, reliability, and discretion Ability to work on-site throughout the contract period Role 1: Full-time, MondayFriday, 9am3pm Immediate start through May 28, 2027 Work at a collaborative educational center supporting diverse student needs Role 2: Part-time, MondayFriday, 8am12pm Immediate start through May 20, 2027 Engage with high school students in a focused, supportive environmentYour Responsibilities:
Provide accurate interpreting during classroom instruction, meetings, and school activities Support student comprehension and participation Collaborate with teachers, staff, and other interpreters to foster inclusive learning Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standardsWhats Offered:
