Qualifications and Experience:

Current Illinois Sign Language Interpreter license required Demonstrated proficiency in ASL Prior experience working with high school students in educational settings preferred Familiarity with adapting communication strategies to meet diverse learning needs Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills Awareness of state and district-specific requirements for working in Illinois schools

Key Responsibilities:

Provide sign language interpretation for high school students during classes, meetings, and school events Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students, teachers, and peers Support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring goals are met Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times Monitor student progress and collaborate with educational teams to adapt strategies as needed Participate in school meetings and professional development as required
