Use your skills as a Sign Language Interpreter to facilitate communication and support student success in a dynamic school environment near Grayslake, IL. This contract position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, serving high school students who benefit from your expertise in American Sign Language. You'll engage closely with a small, focused caseload, interpreting primarily on a 1:1 basis in classroom settings.

Current openings include:

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-3:30pm, with responsibilities split between two nearby campuses and serving grades K-12. Part-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-12:00pm, stationed at Grayslake North High School for grades 9-12. This assignment is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 10th, 2026 (including institute/training days), and runs through Thursday, May 20th, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

Certification with an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher and ISBE Approval, or EIPA score of 3.0-3.4 with ISBE Interim Approval, or BEI/NIC credentials with ISBE Approval. Proven experience interpreting in educational settings, especially with high school students. Ability to work exclusively onsite for the duration of this assignment. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide accurate, confidential American Sign Language interpreting for assigned students during coursework and school activities. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure students' needs are being met. Adjust interpreting strategies to best serve different learning environments and individual student requirements.
