Key Qualifications:

Proven experience in educational or school-based interpreting EIPA score of 3.0 or higher PEL (Professional Educator License) in process or currently active, enabling interpretation within Illinois schools Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL) Ability to effectively interpret for elementary-age students in mainstream settings Excellent communication skills, both with students and staff Professionalism, adaptability, and a passion for advocacy in the classroom

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver accurate and timely sign language interpretation throughout the school day for a single elementary student Facilitate clear communication between the student, teachers, peers, and school staff within mainstream settings Contribute to the students successful classroom participation and access to curriculum alongside their peers Support classroom activities, special events, and school assemblies as needed Collaborate closely with educators and administrators to ensure the students needs are consistently met Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of practice
