Desired Experience & Qualifications:

Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL), with strong interpreting skills. Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, especially in school settings, is preferred. Hold an EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.0 or higher. Applied for, or hold, an active PEL (Professional Educator License) for interpreting in Illinois schools. Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and support professionals. Patient, compassionate, and adaptable, especially when supporting students with unique learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide sign language interpreting services for one elementary student in a self-contained classroom. Facilitate clear communication between the student, peers, and educational staff.
