Both assignments begin as soon as possible and extend through late May 2027. These roles offer a consistent weekday schedule, collaborating closely with students and educational teams to ensure equal access and effective communication.

Current Openings:

Burlington, IL:

.35 FTE, 12:30-3:00 PM, Monday-Friday; providing interpretation for a high school student.

Harvard, IL:

0.5 FTE, 11:00 AM-3:00 PM, Monday-Friday; supporting a high school student in mainstream classrooms.

Qualifications:

Valid ISBE certification and either a 3.5+ EIPA or a 3.0+ EIPA with IBSE approval. Proven skills in sign language interpretation, especially in classroom or school environments. Strong commitment to fostering accessibility and inclusion. Ability to collaborate with faculty and adapt to the needs of individual students. High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and dependability.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide accurate and clear sign language interpretation for students across academic and social situations. Interpret instructional materials, lectures, group discussions, and peer interactions. Promote engagement and understanding for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Assist teachers and staff by facilitating communication in various school settings. Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards at all times.
