Qualifications and Desired Experience:

ASLPI score of 4.1 or above is required Proficient in American Sign Language and experienced in interpreting within educational environments Background in 1:1 interpreting for students preferred Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability in diverse classroom situations Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families Hold or be eligible for relevant state interpreter credentials

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver accurate and effective sign language interpretation for students during lessons, activities, and school functions Facilitate clear communication between students, educators, and peers Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of academic and social support strategies Adapt interpreting style to various student needs and age groups Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical interpreting standards Document and communicate student progress as requested by educational staff
